Happy New Year 2017 | DIY Memory Jar

Over the last week, TV, newspapers, magazines and social media have been recapping 2016 - it's been a tough one.  But for you, me, your family & friends - many, many amazing and brilliant things will have happened over the last year, big or small, and it can be difficult to see these through the reports.  Like many people, I'm looking to combat this in 2017 with a memory jar - something to record all the little and big successes, events, achievements and activities to look back on this time next year.

| WHAT YOU NEED |
Jar / String / Card / Scissors / Star Punch [if you don't have a Sizzix, try these hand punches] / Chalkboard Paint / Chalk Pencil

| HOW YOU MAKE IT |
My jar is a simple Ikea glass [I think nearly everyone has one of these in their home]
I'm going to record my memories on little sizzix-cut stars, which I've punched holes in to loop through grey and white string, tied around the top of the jar:
I then created a chalkboard label, painting a piece of card with chalkboard paint, leaving to dry and then adding some decorative writing:
Glue to the jar and that is about as difficult as this project is.  Whether you use one for yourself, as a family or create one as a gift - it's a great way to record your 2017 memories and enjoy looking back on the year.

Here's to a good one.
